B-Right Urban Living signs realisation contract for 400 rental homes in Amsterdam

B-Right Urban Living will realise a new building complex in Amsterdam with 400 social housing units for students, starters and young professionals. A realisation agreement for this complex has been signed with the municipality of Amsterdam. In addition to housing and catering facilities, the complex will also offer communal spaces such as a common living room, study room, game room and laundry room.

Four hundred social housing units varying in size from approx. 18m2 to 40m2, community areas, catering establishments, commercial spaces, a surrounding courtyard garden, semi-underground bicycle parking and an innovative mobility concept. With the realisation of the residential complex, located at Hettenheuvelweg 8-10, B-Right Urban Living is responding to the developments in Hondsrugpark, a new urban district in Amsterdam for living, working and entrepreneurship.

A contemporary design, characterised by a grid of white multifunctional cubes, surrounds the building and, together with galleries and outdoor spaces, forms the basis for the social structure in the building by facilitating meetings and communal activities. It makes the building stand out from the neighbourhood and gives a modern identity to the lively and young group of residents.

The Hondsrugpark area is still in full development. In the coming years it will change from an office district into a lively neighbourhood with 5,000 housing units, shops, catering establishments and other facilities. With the realisation of this new residential complex, B-Right Urban Living will make a direct contribution to this new district and to the city of Amsterdam, that suffers from a great shortage of social housing for young people and starters.

After realisation, the complex will be managed by Plaza Resident Services, just like B-Right Urban Living a part of Mosaic World.

Innovative mobility concept

From their own experience, B-Right Urban Living (as developer) and Plaza Resident Services (as manager) know that the new generations of residents are open to sharing facilities. Ownership of a car, for example, is minimal and people are open-minded in using shared scooters, bicycles and cars. Together with ParkBee, a large scale provider of parking solutions throughout the Netherlands, B-Right Urban Living has chosen for an innovative parking solution at the housing complex. No fixed designated parking spots, but varying locations, which can be reserved via a personalised app. The ultimate example of sustainable use of the available space.
